Align is an electronic concept album about what keeps us grounded. After an introductory track, “Below” sets the tone for the rest of the set by questioning what it means to find balance. Using spoken word from contemporary dancer Tori Sexsmith, she asks how we go from drowning to floating. From there the songs go through several potential answers to these questions; from taking a walk at night to reflecting on the experiences that make a person who they are. The set concludes with the title track, featuring more spoken word from Tori Sexsmith about an experience with her grandfather and advice on how to live a meaningful life. Reactive visuals, provided by Harrison Foster, accompany live and prerecorded music performed by McKinley Foster.
